Department of Physical Education<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n

The Department of Physical Education at College of Agriculture, Dharwad is one of the oldest department\u2019s established during the year 1986 in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad campus.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the department is to develop physical and mental fitness among the young students and inculcate discipline in their day to day lives. Physical Education & Yoga practices are the main courses offered to the 1st<\/sup> year Under Graduate students, which includes learning and playing different sports and games along with yoga practices taught in the classes. This course is a unique blend of developing physical fitness, leadership qualities and sportsmanship through sports, while yoga practices offers the students a key to enhance their mental focus, reduce stress and tensions and create an atmosphere of peace and calmness within themselves. Together, Sports and Yoga can bring up the confidence in students to take up challenges of the academics or the world in true spirit.<\/p>\n

Further, the course gives an opportunity to the University of Agricultural Sciences students to become a part of a team in variety of Sports & Games and take part in Annual Inter-Collegiate Sports Tournaments held in the University and subsequently they can represent our esteemed University in various All India Level Sports tournaments and showcase their talents in those mega sports events. Laurels and accolades won in the tournaments is not only a matter of joy and prestige to our University but also a best avenue to students to make an individual mark in the sporting community, which they can relish in their entire life.<\/p>\n\n\n
